Youth Dialogue Pioneers in South East Europe
“Youth Dialogue Pioneers in South East Europe” is a transformative project that unfolded between November 2022 and October 2023, building upon the success of the earlier “Rejuvenate Democracy” initiative implemented by the Arka Foundation from 2019 to 2021. In collaboration with the Delta association from Rijeka (Croatia) and the SANCHILD Foundation from Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the Arka Foundation (Serbia) embarked on the ambitious Erasmus+ project with the aim of empowering young individuals in Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At its core, the project sought to cultivate a cadre of approximately 30 empowered young leaders, aged 18 to 30, equipped with analytical and critical thinking skills, proficiency in digital tools, and a passion for advocacy.
The overarching objective was to inspire these youth to spearhead positive change and foster meaningful dialogues within their communities. Through a comprehensive training program, participants were not only honing their skills but were also actively engaging with local decision-makers to implement impactful initiatives.
Extending beyond the direct beneficiaries, the project also targeted around six youth workers from the same regions, enhancing their capabilities to better support and guide local youth. The strategy was rooted in improving communication and collaboration between the empowered youth and decision-makers, creating an environment conducive to constructive exchange.

The project unfolded in several stages, including a kick-off meeting, an open call promotion, a training course in Croatia for selected participants, local activity implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a pre-training partner meeting, engagement with local decision-makers, and a concluding event in Serbia. The ultimate vision was to establish an informal network of Youth Dialogue Pioneers in Southeast Europe, contributing to a sustained and impactful dialogue for positive community development.
Our role as a project partner involved active participation in key project activities, including the kick-off meeting, promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina, participant selection and support, implementation of local activities, contribution to pre-training partner meetings, liaison with local decision-makers, and participation in the final event in Serbia. Through these efforts, we aimed to play a crucial role in the establishment of the Youth Dialogue Pioneers network in South East Europe, fostering a legacy of empowered youth leaders committed to positive community transformation.
