WOMEN INSPIRED BY SPACE

“Women inspired by space” is an art and mindfulness project created to connect, promote and empower non-established female artists from B&H.

This project is a result of the first “HARMONY Project: Train the Trainer” program, implemented in B&H in 2021.

Knjiga “Žene nadahnute sve(mirom)” je kolekcija umjetničkih radova 34 umjetnice iz Bosne i Hercegovine.

Book “Women inspired by space” is an art collection created by 34 female artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We believe that positive changes in society are only possible if we first make positive changes within ourselves. By delivering our “Train the trainer” program across the region, both the philosophy and implementation of our mission will spread to communities who need it most.

About the project

“Women inspired by space” is a project created to empower non-established female artists through art, mindfulness training, and  educational activities which promoted positive aspects of cultural similarities and differences among different ethnicities in B&H. During the 3 days educational workshops, 6 local artists and professionals organized various activities where creativity and art was used as a therapy and a form of connection between women.

Lecturers are: Dr. Amila Smajovic, Academic Prof. Dr. Dr. Lidija Pehar, MSc Alma Tuzi-Lepir, MSc Sanja Hajdukov, activist Marica Vikic, MSc Ernada Avdibegovic.

Thirty female artists from all parts of B&H from various backgrounds attended 3 days workshops in Sarajevo, and promoted their artwork (photography, paintings, craft, and written words), which is in May 2022, published in the e-book: “Zene nadahnute sve(mirom)” (engl. “Women inspired by space”), and promoted in the local communities.

We are especially grateful to Planjax d.o.o. (publisher), Alisa Taletovic (book covers graphic design), Milenko Bogdanovic (project logo design) and Amina Agovic (graphic design of the book).

The implementation of this project was supported by Ruff Cycles, Mr Petar Pero Desnica, Rotary International (Global Grant), and NGO SANCHILD.

How is the Local HARMONY Project created?

HARMONY Project is a platform for education of professionals, designed with the focus on individual well-being, interpersonal connections, and trust-building.

One HARMONY Project starts as the “Train the Trainer” program, where participants (trainees) undergo 7 training modules carefully designed by the international coaches, and results in the Local HARMONY Projects. Each project is designed by one trainee and addresses one issue or an important topic in their local communities, and is implemented by employing their unique skill set, SANCHILD’s values and the HARMONY Project mission to inspire positive changes. Finally, the projects may continue to be improved and implemented in the future, to create “long-lasting ripple effects that positively transform societies”.

About HARMONY Trainee

ERNADA FATIMA AVDIBEGOVIC

“Humans have always admired the sky, stars and have been inspired by the peace and harmony that reign in the atmosphere. This inspiration does not come without challenging questions about our own existence and meaning. Such inner reflections may evoke creativity, so we are looking for female artists who find inspiration in their surroundings and notice miracles in the smallest stars.”

Ernada Fatima Avdibegovic is a lawyer and social worker and holds MAs in “Inter-religious studies and peace-building”. She is very active in NGOs, working on different projects related to youth and women’s empower and topics related to spirituality, healing and peace-building.
